How do our Core Values affect our lives and ministry?
The points below reflect the values that govern our life and ministry. Most of them are common sense, and some may change over time, but they are important to the smooth running, effectiveness and development of our team.
Character – Chemistry – Communication – Competency – Commitment
This is a must – the bedrock of any Christian ministry position. Genuine worship is a response to God, coming from a revelation of His Deity, His Holiness, of His love towards us. To effectively lead others in worshipping God we must ourselves first have a heart of worship, a response to God’s love and grace that leads to a life of worship. We must be on the journey of seeking to become more Christ-like, being renewed through a humble repentant attitude before God.
We must also work as a team. Unity of heart, mind and purpose doesn’t happen automatically. It takes some real love, communication and cooperation. As a team we are all Lead Worshippers. If we value our calling and ministry, then we will esteem each other also.
Because we believe that excellence honours God, then we put our energy and focus into developing and honing our gifts and talents. Being the best that we can be – whether it is guitar, bass, drums, vocals, keyboards, PA, projection etc.
Our church depends on us to be prepared when it’s time to begin our service. If we short cut our set-up and practice times, or aren’t ready on stage to set the room’s ambience three minutes before the service starts, we run the risk of short cutting the effectiveness of our ministry to the church. It is equally important that the pre-service rehearsal finishes early enough that team members can have a brief toilet break etc before the service.
